2018 Pinot Noir, Sun Chase Vineyard
This robust wine greets you with a medium crimson/garnet hue in the glass. Aromatics of dark plum, leather, cocoa, and blueberry intermingle with notes of sweet oak, hickory and shiitake mushroom. The flavor profile is complex, with layers of Bing cherry, raspberry, homemade cranberry sauce, wet stone and vanilla. This is a light-bodied wine with a finish that, although short, delivers medium acid and tannins. Although approachable now, as we have seen with previous vintages, this wine will improve with age.
