Tasting Notes
First impressions of dark plum, blackberry and confectionary notes of cocoa with coffee grounds evolve from the glass. These aromatics, paired with notes of allspice and vanilla, provide a subtle preview into the mouthfeel of the wine. Flavors of crème de cassis, toasted vanilla and boysenberry are layered with chalky tannins that provide a lengthy finish. The 2016 growing season allowed us to harvest these grapes at optimal ripeness, which resulted in a beautiful wine that can be enjoyed early on with a proper decant.
