New Release

'06 DEUx ChEvAux Vineyard Cab & Merlot

October 4th, 2008

Tamber Bey Vineyards announces the release of the 2006 vintage of the vineyard-designate Deux Chevaux Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.  These wines come from the estate owned Yountville Appellation (formally known as Two River Vineyards), and our the 6th release of these wines under the wine making skills of Thomas Brown.

The 2006 Deux Chevaux Vineyard Cabernet showcases the finest attributes of the vintage: A fleshy blend of red and black fruits, with ripe, silky tannins, creating our most approachable but concentrated Cabernet to-date. The Yountville elegance still runs within the wine with a kind of essence of Cabernet cassis/black currant quality shot throughout. This is the most seamless wine upon release to date.

Regarding the 2006 Deux Chevaux Merlot, this wine always exceeds all of our expectations. The density of the palate alone belies the vintage, with the wine being built more like a ’02 or ’04 Cabernet. The nose features notes of espresso roast, pain grille and black currants. Palate weight on this wine comes quickly saturated with milk chocolate, blackberries and mocha. The Yountville elegance does creep in at the end, providing some delineation to the wine, keeping it focused and true to its origin.

New Release

'06 DEUx ChEvAux Vineyard Chardonnay

June 15th, 2008

Tamber Bey Vineyards announces the release of the 2006 vintage of the vineyard-designate Deux Chevaux Vineyard Chardonnay.  This wines come from the estate owned Yountville Appellation (formally known as Two Rivers Vineyards), and our the 6th release of these wines under the wine making skills of Thomas Brown. This wine’s nose contains elements of buttered corn and grilled bread, yet it tends more toward the citrus side of the fruit spectrum. Its entry is framed by the highest acidity for a Tamber Bey Chardonnay, which helps to focus the ripeness of the 2006 vintage. The palate tends back toward tropical fruits, with mouth-coating notes of lime blossom, roasted nuts and lychee. This wine is consistently the surprise of the vintage, and the 2006, with its razor focus, is no exception.
