Tasting Notes
Winemaker Andy Jones: The blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Grenache make this wine one of both complexity and approachability. Notes of strawberry rhubarb, white peach and hibiscus evolve into scents of cream soda, and bright Bing cherries. The mouthfeel has layers of rose petal, cotton candy and watermelon flesh. The crisp acidity completes this wine, and leaves your palate thirsty for more.
Vineyard Notes
The 16-acre Fore Family Vineyard is one of the highest-elevation vineyards in Lake County’s Red Hills AVA, at 3,000 feet. The dramatic, high-elevation volcanic hillsides of this region produce intense mountain fruit with great color and structure. The higher elevation and Lake County’s pure air allow for greater levels of UV light. This UV triggers thicker grape skins, greater tannins and intense wines with high phenolic content.
