2011 Sabino, Deux Chevaux Vineyard
There is no mistaking the power of Cabernet Franc in the 2011 Bordeaux blend “Sabino” from the Yountville Appellation Deux Chevaux Vineyard. The nose initially delivers cassis, a hint of roasted coffee beans and vine leaves, and then evolves into mashed strawberries and graphite. The mouth feel combines the juiciness of Cabernet Franc with the structure of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark plum, notes of tobacco and black licorice evolve on the palate. The finish delivers ripe strawberry and dark chocolate. Without a doubt a full-bodied wine.
